Mobile Food Pantry

Mobile Food Pantry

Overview

The Columbia Food Bank sends a Mobile Food Truck to the Annunciation parking lot on the fourth Thursday of each month January-October and the third Thursday of the month November and December to serve residents of Moniteau County. Together with the staff of El Puente Hispanic Ministry we provide this bilingual service. Families in need of food assistance gather in the drive thru line, register, and receive fresh produce, meat, dairy, and dry goods free of charge.  There are no income requirements for this service.

We currently serve about 200 families each month.

Volunteers

Parish volunteers offer their time to feed God's people.  We encourage everyone to take part in this service activity.  Volunteers should be able to stay on their feet for a few hours and carry typical grocery items short distances.  Mature children are welcome to come accompanied by a parent and teens are always welcome and encouraged.

It takes about 15 volunteers to assist the Food Pantry staff and El Puente each month and we would love see new faces come to help.
